New Finnish Writers


Pauliina Korento (b. 1999, Oulu, Finland) is a Helsinki-based designer, student and fiction writer. “Floodwater” is her first published short story.

Sara Sneck (b. 1992, Uppsala, Sweden) is a Helsinki-based poet, with a degree in ecology and evolutionary biology.

Meghan Smith (b.1981, New Orleans, U.S.A.) is a Helsinki-based educator and writer. “Amber Waves of Grain” is her first published short story.

Filippo Zambon (Florence, 1981) is an Italian art photographer based in Helsinki. “Tether” is his first published piece of literature and belongs to a series of portraits and vignettes about life in contemporary Tuscany.

Jennifer Garrido (b. Santiago de Chile, 1984) through poetry explores how material and natural elements of daily life are conjugated with intense, often contradictory images. These are her first published poems.
