Roxana Crisólogo Correa

Roxana Crisólogo Correa (Peru / Finland) is a poet, cultural worker, and translator. Guest author at the prestigious International Writing Program (IWP) at the University of Iowa, 2025.

Roxana´s new book is titled “Esta canción no termina de salir de mi boca” (Álbum del Universo Bakterial , 2025). Her most recent works include “Dónde dejar tanto ruido” first published by the Álbum del Universo Bakterial in December 2023. A second edition appeared through Cinosargo Editores in 2024, followed by a third edition published by the Argentine press Gog & Magog. The book was presented at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair in 2025.

Her previous book, Kauneus (La belleza) (Beauty), originally published in 2021, was reissued by Ediciones Nebliplateada in Buenos Aires in 2023 and again by RIL Editors in Spain in 2025.

Crisólogo is also the author of the poetry collections Abajo sobre el cielo (1999), Animal del camino (2000), Ludy D (2006), and Trenes (El Billar de Lucrecia, Mexico, 2010), which was reissued in 2019 by Libros del Cardo in Chile.

Her poetry and selections from her work have been translated into French, Italian, and German. Un jour je m’en irai sans rien emporter (Un día me iré sin llevarme nada) is a French-language selection of her poems published by Éditions KLAC with support from the Institut Français, Ville de Bordeaux, and Bordeaux Métropole. The book was launched in March 2024, coinciding with Crisólogo’s participation in the Villa Valmont Writers Residency Program in Bordeaux, France.

Sotto sopra il cielo is an Italian anthology of her poetry published by Seri Editore. A selection of her poems appeared in German under the title Eisbrecher (Hochroth Verlag, Berlin, 2017). Her first book, Abajo sobre el cielo, was also translated into Finnish as Alhaalla taivaan yllä (Kääntöpiiri, Helsinki, 2001).

One of Crisólogo’s key contributions to Finland’s literary scene is the founding of the Sivuvalo Platform in 2013. Between 2023 and 2024, she served as vice president of Sivuvalo and was, for the second time, a grantee of the Kone Foundation to develop the literature and translation project New Havens & Humanoids, led by translator, literary critic, and poet José Luis Rico.

Crisólogo has also coordinated the multilingual literature and translation project Nordic Exchange in Literature in collaboration with Swedish translator and editor Petronella Zetterlund, supported by Nordic cultural funds.

As a translator from Finnish, she co-edited the anthologies Prohibido caminar con niños (Sweden, POESIAconC, 2010) and Los abejorros zumban en la ventana (Argentina, Erizo Editora, 2013).

Her literary projects and work have received support from Finnish institutions, including Suomen Kulttuurirahasto (Finnish Cultural Foundation), FILI, TAIKE, the Kari Mattila Foundation, and the Kone Foundation, among others.

Roxana lives between Lima and Helsinki.
